It sounds simple, but getting it wrong — renting too few and leaving guests without a seat, or over-renting and wasting money — is one of the most stressful parts of event planning.

This guide will give you a clear, reliable answer for any event size.

**The Golden Rule: 8–10 Guests Per Round Table**

For five-foot round tables (the standard for parties, weddings, and receptions), plan for 8 guests per table comfortably, or 10 if space is tight. We recommend always planning for 8 to give guests room to breathe, move their chairs, and enjoy their food without bumping elbows.

For six-foot rectangle tables, you can seat 6–8 guests (3–4 per side). These work great for long banquet-style layouts, kids' tables, or casual backyard parties.

Here's how many 5-foot round tables you'll need based on guest count:

**Always Add a Buffer**

For a 100-person event, rent 110–115 chairs. For 50 people, rent 55–60.
